Understanding Your MAT Scorecard Metrics
Your MAT scorecard reports both raw sectional scores and scaled composite scores. Here is how to interpret them:
- Section-Wise Scaled Scores: Scaled on a range from 0 to 100 for each of the four core sections.
- Composite Score: Reported on a scale from 200 to 800 based on the four core sections.
- Percentile: Indicates your relative position compared to all other test-takers in this session.
Core Sections vs Indian & Global Environment (IGE)
A critical point to remember during your result check is that MAT composite scores are calculated from 4 sections only:
- Language Comprehension (LC)
- Mathematical Skills (MS)
- Data Analysis & Sufficiency (DA)
- Intelligence & Critical Reasoning (ICR)
The fifth section, Indian & Global Environment (IGE), is scored separately and is NOT included in the 800-point composite score. Most colleges completely ignore the IGE score when shortlisting candidates.

A. You can perform the result check directly by logging in at the official candidate dashboard at mat.aima.in.
Q2. How is the MAT composite score out of 800 calculated?
A. The raw marks from the first 4 sections (160 questions in total) are scaled to a sectional score from 0 to 100, which are then mapped to a combined composite score out of 800.

A. Yes. For every correct answer, you get +1 mark, and for every incorrect attempt, 0.25 marks are deducted. Unattempted questions receive 0 marks.

Q5. Can I apply for admissions with my MAT May 2026 score in the next session?
A. Yes, the MAT scorecard remains valid for 12 months from the date of declaration, allowing you to apply for multiple admission intakes within that timeframe.
